Things to do this half-term in & around Flamborough, East Yorkshire
With little ones that keep us busy ourselves, we know how important it is to find activities that suit the whole family and “tire them out” in the best way possible. Apart from coastal Glamping (obviously), what could be better than fresh sea air, cliff walks and exploring woodland and bird life? Flamborough on East Yorkshire’s coast has it all:
🦭 Flamborough Headland
Head to Flamborough’s famous outer point with its two lighthouses, a large café and, if you’re in luck, hundreds of seals bobbing along in the waves or lounging ashore. Discover the “Drinking Dinosaur” and enjoy salty-cheeked walks across the magnificent chalk cliffs.
🌊 North Landing
Most popular beach in Flamborough! With a cafe and large car park as well as sandwich shop at the beach this spot proves very successful with families. Make sure to bring your buckets and fishnets for some rockpooling.
⚓️ South Landing
Parking available on top of the beach and a 200m walk down a steep paved walk brings you down to a secluded beach with breath-taking views. RNLI shop is open during holiday times only at the moment but there is a lovely café (scrumdiddlyumptious by the sea) at the car park. Watch out for the RNLI Lifeboat Training on Sunday mornings - a hit with the children!
🦅 Bempton Cliffs
RSBP’s famous spot featured in numerous TV programmes and home to thousands of nesting birds including the wonderful Puffins! While February half-term might be a little early to see the orange-beaked fellows, children and parents will enjoy the roaming paths along the cliffs with numerous viewing platforms and other birds to explore. If you’re booking with us this half-term we will provide your kids with a free voucher for a “Discovery Backpack” as well!
🌳 Danes Dyke
A 20 min walk or short drive from our Glamping site, this sprawling woodland offers hundred year old trees, paths and a beach to explore and roam around for hours on end. With a generous car park and hole-in-the-walk café as well as public toilets, this spot is very popular with families.
🏰 Sewerby Hall
An impressive stately home and estate offering an animal park, café, playground, and children’s half-term activities. While entry costs a fee, we think it’s worth spending a whole day here making use of all the offers and using the charming land train from here to Bridlington and back. A definite favorite with all children!
👣 Fraisthorpe Beach
As recommended by our guest, this beach is perfect for dog-owners as well as parents as it’s a vast stretch of sand with endless space to roam and run around. The Cowshed next to the car park offers lovely treats after a wind-swept walk.
We currently have a £30 discount for families booking to stay in our Glamping pods this half-term so make sure to book now!
